Sold Out!
For the past two months, I’ve been working on this project to support the Black is Beautiful initiative started by Weathered Souls Brewing Co. It’s goal is to support local organizations that promote equality and inclusion.
The Beer
This is a 10% ABV Imperial stout. My version follows the recipe laid by the initiative, but substitutes in Marris Otter malt for the Pale Ale Malt. This creates a deeper malt character. After fermentation, I blended in Elijah Craig bourbon with medium toast oak cubes for additional wood flavor.
It was packaged into 32, 500ml bottles. Due to the high amount of residual sugar in this beer, bottles should be refrigerated until consumption. If you’d like a smoother barrel/wood flavor, age it in your fridge for 2-3 months.

I’ve chosen the Austin Justice Coalition to be the benefactor of this project. If you live in Austin or the surrounding area, and would like to receive a bottle, make a donation of $20 or more using the following donation link. I have about $150 out-of-pocket cost, so please be generous. Then fill out the google form (linked at bottom) and upload your screenshot.
Delivery
If you live in Austin or the surrounding suburbs, I’ll be dropping off bottles on Thursday (Aug 20th) in the afternoon/evening. Otherwise, I can hold them for pickup at my house through the weekend. Please don’t order if you can’t meet either of these options, since I don’t have coldspace to store the bottles for longer.
